Ross, Walter Etudes a Deux 20th Century (1994). Walter Ross wrote this series of 12 progressively difficult duets for Per Brevig and his son, Kjetil. Each duet addresses a different aspect of 20th Century literature. Dynamics and articulations are carefully marked in all of the duets. Many are in mixed meter. For four of the duets, the first part is in tenor clef. Reverse slide rips and the use of the Harmon mute, with its wah-wah function, are demonstrated in the last two. Best of all, each duet is a musical composition that sounds right and is a joy to play!
