Written for the University of North Texas Trombone Ensemble, Spaniola has created an interesting and challenging work for two trombone quartets, featuring a contemporary harmonic language, beautiful melodies, and much rhythmic intricacy. While difficult, it is playable by accomplished players with a normal amount of rehearsal. -vk
